The future is already happening, and it’s starting to pass many of us by.
You missed a great and important meeting in NY.
Not that you need any more things to be concerned about, but this is really important. The very survival of your business could be at stake. And while that sounds extreme, let me tell you, IT IS.
It’s critical that we stop and consider what’s happening all around us that could very well spell opportunity or disaster for our future. The wave of the future is cresting, and we had better figure out where we want to be on that wave.
And so we did. Globalink organized and help a two day conference in New York to focus on the major challenges facing independent forwarders. 11 Globalink members met in NY …READ MORE
Globalink is proud to announce that through cooperation with the Global Value Network, they will be launching their new blog/discussion forum called CARGO SPECIALISTS!
Not only will CARGO SPECIALISTS be found on its own website but discussions can also be found on it’s new LinkedIn group.
GLNK, Inc, the company which owns both Globalink and Global Value Networks, is continually striving to be a voice in the industry; to be YOUR voice.
CARGO SPECIALISTS is not intended to be a way of promoting the networks or to simply gain new members, the intention is to help those in the industry. To talk with them about the challanges they face, their economy, niche markets, and what they do that perhaps others can implament.
We have been talking about this for quite some time and are happy to have it unveiled soon!
The LinkedIn group for CARGO SPECIALISTS is already operating. If you care to join this group, please cllick here.
We talked about this a bit at the meeting but we wanted to bring it to light again.
As you know, there are many Globalink members that are part of a group of companies and often times, their warehousing is done through one company name, their consignments through another, and their freight forwarding through yet another of their company names.
To avoid confusion, we have created a GROUP ICON that will indicate this companies from the others and provide an explaination of how their specific group is structured.
Look for these icons in the directory!
MEMBER STATUS ICONS
The members spoke and we listened!
During our meetings in Vietnam, we were approached by the Far Logistics team encouraging us to provide more member status categories. Up to this point the only indication of how long a member has been with us is those that are Founding members; this is not the case anymore!
We have launched a new program that will allow members to be recognized in the following brackets:
We are happy to introduce this new program and we will be notifying you whenever one of your fellow members reaches a new goal!
We would currently like to congratulate the members below on their status and dedication with the network:
UPDATED WEBSITE HOMEPAGE

Donald Trump. Brexit. Conflict in the Middle East. Amazon moving into the shipping industry. Living and running a business in the modern world is complicated. How do we fortify our businesses and our lives so that we stay afloat?
It is true what they say, that there is strength in numbers. What we have been talking about here at Globalink lately is that all of these recent events only deepens the need for a strong network, for strong relationships with great companies worldwide.
Keith Ferrazzi, CEO of Ferrazzi Greenlight, an enterprise consulting, research and training firm, says“Our research shows that the number-one predictive element of an individual’s success is the number, the quality, and the depth of social capital…READ MORE
Here at Globalink we have been eagerly working to make improvments and to strengthen our processes within the office so that we are stronger and better for the membership. From the points covered in the “What’s New” section above, to our accounting software, the Globalink staff has been burning the midnight oil to implament all of these changes in a timely manner.
We are contantly striving to do better and to be the best network for our members, the best way for us to learn what you, as members need or want from us, is to hear from you!
If you have any thoughts, questions, or ideas of what you would like to see in the network, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
We had initiated an enquiry with Barbara of Dedicated Logistics whilst she was still attending the annual network meeting in Da Nang. There has been considerable exchange of mails, calls, and we managed to secure a new client. This was mainly due to the excellent transparency in costing and follow up for quite a challenging job of steel picked up at supplier and loaded in 3′ x 45’ container at the port.
Our client was happy and hope this will lead to more biz between us and Dedicated for this client.
We would like to give Barbara and the Dedicated Logistics team the highest marks possible!
Thank you to our Globe sponsors!

I would like to share my thoughts with you on the recent meeting in New York.
It was held primarily to discuss the impact Amazon may have as it moves into logistics and also to discuss other factors that may have an effect on our industry.
It was very good to greet old friends and to meet new ones. The initial mood was quite upbeat and having read the Agenda, I thought I was in for a pleasant morning’s discussion.
How wrong I was. The more we delved into Amazon, the more somber the meeting became.
Numbers (beyond our imagination), facts, figures ensued, news articles and opinions from industry experts. It painted a very scary picture!
The truth is that no one in the room or indeed anyone outside of Amazon, fully understands them. However, based on prior performance and a knowledge of their …READ MORE
HOW DO YOU FIX A PROBLEM AFTER YOU LEAVE, HERE’S HOW GLOBALINK AND GLOBAL VALUE NETWORKS DO IT…
As many of you may know, in Vietnam, not only the Globalink staff, but as well, many of the members used a company called 24hr Visa, to process their visas for the 2016 meeting.
While some of you had great experiences with the visa service, there were many of you that didn’t receive the full service that you purchased and as a result, refunds were due for the portion of service that wasn’t received.
Over the time that has passed since the meeting, Stephy has been working...READ MORE
We bit off a lot.
This year, as with every year, we brought the GLNK team together to talk about goals and objectives. The results were exciting.
I has been promoted to the role of Marketing Manager. Jennifer Lang will be taking over many of my former duties, like accounting, billing and collections.
We have committed to a three year plan of greatly increasing our footprint all over the internet. I will be leading an effort to:
1. Increase our profile and presence with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
2. We will be actively pursuing more “Blog” activities, up to an including setting …READ MORE
